Random Acts of Kindness Award!

I love the name of this award. It makes me feel like I’m doing something good for humanity (at less I hope I do). My ever honest and straightforward friend / favorite blogger, Huguette nominated me and for that, you have my heartfelt thanks Hug!

Kindly visit Huguette’s blog at https://huguetteantoun.com/

Award rules:

  • Thank the person nominating you, and tag them.
  • Write a paragraph or more on the experience of an act of kindness or something you have read or seen, or done, yourself
  • Nominate three people who have to follow the rules and do the same as written above
  • Paste and copy the picture from above on your post. Let the people you nominated know they have been nominated

I know I’m not cruel (other than when I feel like torturing my fictional characters 😄 ) but I’m also not a good judge of myself. I do help people out when I see that they need it, especially the animals. However, instead of writing those stuff down and ends up sounding like I’m boasting I’ll tell a story about kindness instead.

This is a story of video I saw in Youtube. I’m not sure if it’s real or fiction because sadly I lost it.

It’s about a grocery owner in Asia.

Each morning he will find a homeless man sleeping in front of his store.

The owner will chase him, again and again in different ways and even threatened to call the police. Even when the grocery owner starts to get physical on him, the homeless man will still politely bow his head and leave which infuriate the owner even more. He spouts curses and all kind of hurtful words, including words like “I hope he never comes back” while cleaning the smell of piss and trash in front of his store which he assumes was the doing of the homeless man.

One day, the owner open the grocery store and was pleasantly surprise to see that the homeless man was no longer there. A few passes and the homeless man never showed himself. The owner half concern talks to his daughter and she sniffed sadly and told him that the man had died.

The owner then asked how? And the daughter showed him a CCTV record of him getting stabbed to death in front of his store at the middle of the night by the robbers who wanted to rob his store. He then looked at the other videos and started to cry when he saw that the homeless man was cleaning the front of his store each night before he sleeps and chase the drunk people who piss and draw graffiti on his wall. As he continues to look for older videos he saw that it all started when his daughter came home late and gave the homeless man her takeout food.

The homeless man paid his daughter kindness over and over, including his life.

I hope this made you cry.

  1. Dear Milky, I got lost in translation when you told me about this award!! I feel so a shame!!!! Please accept my deepest apologies!
I admire people who are kind to others, such as your self, but strongly believe that kindness should always lay on anonymity… I know it’s foolish somehow, but that’s how I feel about it!
Thank you for thinking about me for this one! You made my week!

    1. What’s there to apologize for cariño? All is fine and again, thanks for your kind words. I agree with your stand. People who truly want to be kind doesn’t need a camera crew to record their deeds for the world to see.
Your comment just made my night too ^_^
