Out to camp

There’s an expression in the Philippines, which probably is the same in English or another language, it goes like “Bakit ka pa kumuha ng bato na ipupokpok sa ulo?” (Why did you go and get a stone to hit your head?) because I can’t help that I’m holding that stone right now.

As most of you know, yours truly is a romance author, but I’m trying to break away from it, starting with my micro-fictions.

🙃 Joke!

I’ll always have room for love.

But the reason why I feel I’m about to bang my head with a stone is that I just joined Camp NaNoWriMo for July.

Unlike National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) (a challenge I always joined in November) Where participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel from November 1 to November 30.

Camp NaNoWriMo is a virtual writing retreat which makes you decide the length of your writing project, novel or not.

And here comes the painful part. I barely have inspiration or time to write. But I still want to challenge myself to write Perfect Imperfect, a dystopian story. I’m aiming for at least 70,000 words, which means writing 2300 words a day.

Talk about torturing yourself.

But still, I’m excited. And hopeful.

Conclusion:

I won’t be around as much and will be relying on schedule post for update most of the time.

        1. Get over yourself Hug! How many times must I confess my love before you’re satisfied? Huh?
          Haha 😀 😘

          1. I know you were joking. I just want to know how many times I have to confess before I can make you gave up hahaha 😀

          2. I usually don’t give up at all but I can’t keep saying I’m joking so due to my short temper, we’ll leave you in peace 😎

Yes, it’s been so since I last completed a whole book so I’m excited. I don’t have a hit series yet, I’ll gladly welcome that 😀

Thanks for the good wishes Simon <3

  2. That sounds like a great challenge, and an intriguing title. Have fun and, yes, taking timeouts to create the space for thought is a great idea too 🙂

    1. Thanks David. <3 Yes, I think having fun would be the best way of approach to reach my milestone.

    1. Thanks Christopher! It’s my second attempt on this genre, hope this time I can complete it.

    2. I think by challanging yourself you will become just better and better😊inspiration will come, look arround you take a little walk somewhere in nature, helps me to clean my head and gives me ideas🤗

      1. Thank you so much for the encouragement Ilona. <3 And the great reminder. I often ends up, sulking inside when I ran out of inspiration instead of enjoying myself outside.

        1. Subsidiaries sounds to grand! Haha but if there’s something I can help, as long as I can, I will. ^_^

          1. Granted. You’re my favorite after all… because so far you’re the only one. 😂
