When In Another Time started

Beniarda

It’s the second week since NaNoWriMo ended. In Another Time is still in progress.

I want to talk about where and what inspired the story I’m writing. The inspiration comes to me while I was on a road trip 16 years ago with my husband. We were on the German highway when the scenes flooded into my head. This was one of my first novel ideas, but that’s what all it was, an idea, a short movie in my head.

By the time we were back home, I went back to reading books. I never thought of trying to write stories back then and when I finally did, I got no inspiration to write this story, until the year 2018-2019, the year I lived in the tranquil sleepy village of Beniardá.

But as as you can see it took me one more year, before I start writing it.

The settings?

My beloved Beniardá of course. The video below speaks in Spanish, but this perfectly show the village grace and beauty.

  1. Wow! 16 years ago! That’s crazy 😜 and you are incredible to remember it 🤪
But I understand why you remember it and why it inspired you! It is a lovely place!
I love a tranquil sleepy village surrounded by nature! When I’ll retire I want to do it in such a place 😍
In Another Time will be a fantastic and mysterious romance 😍

    1. Oh my gosh, you expect too much dear Ribby, now I’m afraid not to meet your expectation 😨 😄
It’s not only tranquil but also friendly people. And I know it’s a bit crazy but stories (not only my own) seemed to stick to my brain 😂

      1. Don’t worry dear Jess, I’m sure will be wonderful! It will be that kind of book that one cannot put it down until is not finished ☺️
I guess that’s the secret of a writer…the stories will stick to their brain…this is the proof I’m not a writer because I can’t remember anything 🤪🤪

        1. Gahh! 😱 But thank you Ribby. And please don’t be hard on yourself. Maybe you haven’t realized it but your a great writer. It clearly shows in your blog… it shine brightly when you write about food and share recipes. 🥰

          1. Thank you dear Jess…I’m just trying to express my love for food but I’m very conscious I’m not a writer and that’s ok ☺️ I let the hard job to you writers to transport me in your stories ☺️😜🥰

          2. You warm my dear Ribby, but from what a understand a writer is a person who writes (articles, stories, books, etc.) you’re among them. I’m a story writer, you’re non-fiction writer.
You with me or can we agree to disagree? 😂

    1. Thanks Jim 😊
Yes, it is a beautiful village. If you walked around in normal pace you’ll see the whole village in 30-40 min. It’s a tight community with friendly people.

        1. So true 😁 convenient for an introvert like me because most of the time they approached first. 😄

  2. Beniarda is beautiful😍 a beautiful village, you still live here? Great place to have inspiring thoughts ✨ I sense now why did you complain about internet 😋 Inspiration is an inspiration and it never goes out of our head, it stays there until our pen writes it down…,☺️ have a lovely day 💐✨ and all the best to launch your Book 😁🤗

    1. Thanks Simon ❤ So true, stories we like will always linger around until they’re written 😀

    1. It is a beautiful village. Two weeks after moving in, everyone knows us 😂 and received invitations to get free fruits and veggies. I love them. My dream is one day buy one of the houses there 🙂

        1. They are more affordable the busy towns in Spain… we tried our to be economical and that’s why ended up there 😄
